By Steve Habib

Having indoor plants is beneficial. Aside from cleaning the air, they can also improve the appearance of your home. Fresh plants are capable of blending with any theme of décor inside a house. No matter if you are an enthusiast or new to growing houseplants, the following are some of the most excellent choices.

Moth Orchid. A variety of orchid, Moth Orchid is among the top choices for purifying the air inside the houses. The petals are white with small stripes of fuchsia. The buds are something that is interesting about this orchid. The buds start appearing in five at the bottom of the stem. It opens one at a time when the last one at the top starts to open. The flowers, when they bloom in spring, last for three months. They prefer indirect sunlight

Pony-Tail Palm. Its unusual appearance compels any gardener to make it a houseplant. Its trunks, which can store water, are tumid, while its leaves seem to whip out from the stems. Because of its inherent capacity to house water by its trunk, it can go for a year without water. In keeping pony-tail palm indoors, it is wise to let it dry before putting water on it. It appreciates high light. While its appearance is odd to look at, caring for it is very easy. It can reach 6 feet tall.

Angel Ivy Ring Topiary. Its other name is wire vine. Its height can reach one foot and 8 inches. Angel Ivy Ring Topiary neither favor over watering nor making it dry. However, it does love misting. The excellent temperatures are between 65 and 80 degrees. Angel Ivy Ring Topiary is attractive to spider mites; hence, once you spot them, it is best to pull them out. For its sunlight needs, it favors indirect sun exposure. An all-purpose fertilizer once each month will make it full and healthy.

Chinese Evergreen. If you are a first time grower of any plant, you may find Chinese evergreen to be easy to care for. It prefers low light areas to keep its leaves dark green and almost silver. Before watering it, it is advisable to let it dry. If the temperature drops below 45 degrees, then it may not do well. Its maximum height can reach 3 feet. Its shortest height is 18 inches.

Ficus. Most indoor plant hobbyists love Ficus. Its leaves are green, and some plants sport a braid type. This happens when four or more of its stems are intertwined together creating a braid. To prevent its leaves from falling off, the ficus plant needs uniform watering. When it grows, it can reach a height of four feet. If it is given indirect lighting, it sure is to grow healthily.
