A Plant Caddy For Moving Your Plants Around

   (Read 500+ times)
By Patricia Wainwright

Need help in moving your plants in large pots and planters around and there is nobody at home and at the neighbor's house most of the time - or the task is simply too heavy for all members of the family combined? Get a plant caddy now and get the job done easily without the risk of breakage.

A plant caddy protects your delicate wood flooring or your carpet from damage, discoloration, stains, or water marks when you move your indoor plants around the house, or your outdoor plants around the patio or the garden. It can also be decorative. More importantly, a plant caddy saves your back and your body from strains, injuries, hernias, and other unwarranted medical conditions.

Different Types of Plant Caddy

A plant caddy, also called a plant dolly, is a plant holder with wheels for easy mobility inside or outside the house. A plant caddy on wheels can move not only your plants but almost anything as long as the weight of the object being moved is within its carrying capacity limit. Some types of the rolling plant caddy have easy-glide urethane wheels that rotate smoothly and safely over all parts of your house and garden, even carpets. Some types of plant caddy with wheels can carry up to 500 lbs.

o Wooden Plant Caddy

Most wooden plant caddies come in shapes of round, square or octagon and can either have 3 or 4 wheels. The wood is mostly of the hardwood variety such as solid pine, solid cedar, or mahogany. Most popular finishes of the wooden plant caddy are natural and honey oak.

o Glass Plant Caddy

Most glass caddies are made of unbreakable tempered glass and come in the colors white and black.

o Wrought Iron/Cast Iron/Brass Plant Caddy

These are the most decorative of all the plant caddies and come as either round or square and in different designs such as antique designs, filigrees, sun-faced, animals, etc. It is durable and lasts for years and the baked-on powder-coated finish prevents rust.

o Plastic Plant Caddy

The plastic rolling plant caddy comes in different colors, different shapes and sizes. Some have a lip to prevent the pot from slipping and tipping, castors to protect floors and carpets and built-in reservoir which catches excess water.

Heavy Duty Plant Caddy

All of the types of plant caddies above can be a heavy duty plant caddy if these can move and elevate heavy and wide potted plants from 100 lbs up and from 12 inches in diameter. Most have from 4 to 6 steel bearing casters to prevent tipping during the moving process and to prevent damage to floors and carpets.

Down Under Plant Caddy

The Down Under Plant Caddy is a heavy duty plant caddy brand made of ultraviolet rays-resistant plastic which has a locking caster to keep the caddy firm and in place all the time. Shaped like a decorative starfish in black or terra cotta colors, the diameters of the Down Under Plant Caddy range from 14, 16 and 20 inches. With 5 quality nylon and steel wheels, all the plant caddies can move, elevate, and support a weight of 500 lbs in a light and easy manner.

Transform your garden landscape and re-arrange the potted plants inside your house or in your patio to accentuate a beauty that has been waiting to show off. While a plant caddy can't move mountains or a hardened heart, it certainly can move heavy and challenging potted plants around.
