Beautifully Combine Color in Your Flower Garden Designs

Ever wonder how gardeners seem to be able to beautifully combine color in their flower garden designs? The flower colors seem to complement each other and blend together remarkably well. Just how do they do it?
Well, with a couple of easy to remember tips, you can beautifully combine color, too.
First, think back a bit. Remember the color wheel you learned about in art class in school?
Believe it or not, some easy to remember keys to beautifully combine color in your garden areas lies in the way those six basic colors are set up on the color wheel.
Starting from one of the colors and working clockwise around the color wheel, simply remember the sequence of the colors. Using purple as the first color, the sequence would be: purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red and then back to purple.
By knowing and using the order of the colors around the color wheel you can then apply the following three quick and easy to remember tips to beautifully combine color in your flower garden designs:
* Combine colors that are next to each other on the color wheel:
Suppose you want to plant orange flowers in your garden. To complement the orange, you could combine the pairs of orange and yellow flowers, or the pairs of orange and red flowers. You could even combine the three colors next to each other and plant orange, yellow and red flowers.
*Combine colors that are straight across from each other on the color wheel:
Starting with the orange example again, you could combine the pairs of orange and blue, or yellow and purple, or red and green. Depending upon the particular colors of the flower pairs you choose to use, your garden will can be made to feel bright and hot or subdued and cool.
*Combine colors that form a triangle with each other:
If, rather than a pair of colors, you choose the combination of orange, green and purple or blue, yellow and red you may find you have more variety of flowers to choose from in your flower garden designs.
Following the sequence of colors around the color wheel and these three tips as a guide, you will soon be creating beautifully combined areas of color throughout your garden areas.
