Exotic plants are rare. But that does not mean they are hard to find. In fact, there are many exotic plants that make an ideal houseplant. For people who have a green thumb, they may find interests in exotic plants for their indoor or outdoor. For a change, why not try to see if there is one that can grow in your area?
For a start, you may find desirable to grow exotic plants that are easily available. Some of these include the carnivorous plants like the pitcher plant and Venus flytraps. The Venus flytrap is more popular. They are easy to find in plant gardens. Also, they are inexpensive.
A native of North Carolina, Venus flytrap can be a source of children’s fascination because of its flytraps that resemble a mouth. Although they may seem to be a tough plant because it eats flies, it is a fragile exotic plant. In growing this, it is important to keep it from frosts.
In addition, it is important that get a lot of humidity and good amount of sun exposure. Now, if you want to have more traps in your Venus, all you have to do is to pluck off flowers when they start to bloom. On the other hand, the Pitcher plant is an attractive type of carnivorous plant.
It can also grow larger than Venus flytrap. Pitcher plants do well in warm climate. Because it is a carnivorous plant, it is constantly require high level of humidity and relatively warm temperature. To top it all, these two exotic plants are a spectacle to watch.
Pineapple and Spanish moss are both members of bromeliads, another family of exotic plants that are easy to care for. Bromeliads have strong resistance to cold temperature. However, they cannot tolerate the freezing temperatures. Hence, it is best to have them indoors where they can make an exotic addition to your home décor.
Size is a good way to vary the species of Bromeliad family. Among the smaller plants is the Bilbergia, or the Queen of tears, while its larger plants are the pineapple that grows up to several feet high and wide. If your yard is large enough or if you have a greenhouse, bromeliads are ideal for houseplants.
Some poisonous plants are also exotic, and make good houseplants. Most of them have thorns in them, but still, they are attractive. The crown of thorns is a good example. It has large numbers of beautiful flowers, and can survive for many decades. But, if you have children, the crown of thorns may not be suitable for you.
Exotic plants are a good choice if you are looking for unique plants for your home whether indoors or outdoors. A visit to your local nursery may prove fruitful. Moreover, if you could find more information about the exotic plants, then your garden is sure to have a unique theme.
