Why use indoor hanging planters in yor home?
There is nothing like indoor plants for brightening a room and adding a natural touch to your decor. Indoor plants are very good for the rooms they occupy; they absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen and improve the room's environment. Most people have a few pot plants around their house but have not always thought of installing plant hangers indoors, thus changing the structure of the room with the addition of greenery or flowers at different heights. Whilst indoor hanging planters take a little more time to put up in a room, and require a bit more maintenance than your average pot plant; the resulting effect is well worth the effort
Types of indoor hanging planters
Which type of planter you use will depend on a number of factors; the room you want to add them to; the plants you want to display and the amount you are happy to spend on indoor hanging planters. If installing a hanging planter in the kitchen you have to be aware of certain safety considerations; keeping away from cooking appliances, and not hindering access to the refrigerator or larder. A very simple and affordable indoor hanging planter is one made from macrame, and the advantage of this planter is that it is light and will hang easily from a hook, either in the ceiling or from a shelf. You need to remember not to overfill an indoor planter, or make it too heavy, unless you have installed a very firmly fixed bracket. From macrame, you can move to other decorative plant hangers with scroll work metal and hand painted ceramic pots, which you can hang from special indoor plant stands, or from the ceiling. At the top end of the scale, price wise are wrought iron plant hangers, for indoor or outdoor use. The choice of indoor plant hangers is extensive as, if you have the correct fixings, many hanging planters sold for the garden would work just as well indoors.
How to use indoor hanging planters
It is a good idea to think of your plants as part of your interior decorating, and consider color, shape and form as much as you do with your furniture and ornaments. A macrame hanging basket may look odd in a very modern room, whereas a stainless steel hanging planter would look great with some trailing ivy all year round. Your indoor hanging planters will need to be positioned where the plants can get some light, although some plants will cope with less light than others. Choose the fancy scroll work hanging planters for your conservatory, and match them with those on your patio to create a transition between indoors and outside. You can have a lot of fun bringing some height and color, and aroma to your home using indoor hanging planters strategically placed in different rooms
