Lawn Vacuums

   (Read 500+ times)
By Patricia Wainwright

Lawn vacuums become very helpful to homeowners especially during fall when leaves start to pile up on lawns, yards, walkways, and driveways. Although leaf sweepers and blowers can also be useful, they require the operator to dispose the leaves himself. With lawn vacuums, homeowners can now just make one sweeping on a lawn and twigs, leaves, and debris will be vacuumed. However, it doesn’t end there. The beauty of lawn vacuums is that they are able to cut all swept things into tiny pieces, turning them into mulch that can readily be used by homeowners. There’s now no need to put them in piles, burn them, or throw them away.

Lawn vacuums actually look like common lawnmowers. The only difference is that they have larger wheels and they do most of the job for you. You just push one and sweep it all over your lawn, and voila, you have instant mulch for gardening and there’s no need for several bags of trash. Another advantage of lawn vacuums is that they can be used on concrete areas such as pathways and driveways. You can even attach a flexible hose to them, allowing you to remove leaves and twigs out of planters, shrubs, and reach normally unreachable areas. Push lawn vacuums or those that are operated by hand retail from $300.

There are several models of lawn vacuums that can be towed behind by garden tractors, riding mowers, and ATVs. These models are usually the heavy-duty and commercial ones. They do the job 5 to 10 times faster and can even collect slightly bigger pieces of wood. Tow-behind lawn vacuums retail from $500.

There are also riding lawn vacuums that are meant for heavy-duty lawn maintenance. The most common brand is Cyclone Rake. Cyclone Rake is one of the bestselling brands of lawn vacuums in the country with riding lawn vacuums that range from $995 to $1500. Cyclone Rake’s marketing strategy that makes it such a good investment for gardeners and homeowners is the money-back guarantee. It offers free trial to those who want to try their lawn vacuums and gives a full refund if it does not do what it claims. Cyclone Rake has three models that are out in the market: the Commander Leaf and Lawn Vacuum, the Commercial Pro, and the XL. All Cyclone Rake lawn vacuums boast of a patented vacuum system that gives the pump wider diameter, minimizing clogs in the machine. Cyclone Rake lawn vacuums also have folding debris hoppers that allows for easy storing.

However, before buying lawn vacuums make sure that you know the size of your lawn and the type of maintenance it needs. There’s no need to waste so much money on equipment that will only be used once in a while.
