Raw Juice Power: Drink it!

When it comes to obtaining everything needed daily from our food sources, juicing is a superior way to go! The nutrition gained from drinking raw veggie and fruit juice surpasses anything else you could choose to put to your lips. Its healing, tasty, and after feeling the benefits of living this way, well, you won't want to go back to your former lifestyle. Not to mention how quick and easy it is. In just a few minutes you have a nutritious powerhouse beverage that will complete your nutritional requirements for the day! What could be better?
First off, it makes available to us the nutrients within the food without us cutting, chopping, and chewing. We zip it through the juicer and in seconds we have in our hot little hands everything our bodies were meant to have. Vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. You probably have heard many times the value of chewing your food well. It makes the nutrients within it readily available. Well, this does the chewing for you. Not to mention that within 15 minutes it has gotten down to the cellular level of us and is beginning to do its miraculous work, repairing, healing and making things right.
There are a lot of juicers on the market to choose from, either on line or at your local department or health food stores. Back in my day as a health food retailer, everyone always sung the praises of the Champion Juicer. It is a very well made, durable machine, and lots of people are very happy with it once they purchase one. It homogenizes and grinds grains as well. Great for making nut milks and things of that nature. The feeding chamber is 1 and 3/4 inches in diameter, smaller than some others, but this machine is so awesome in so many ways, you can't go wrong with it. I personally own a Jack Lalanne juicer, and am very pleased with it. Its has a large feeding chamber, 3 inches in diameter, which saves loads of cutting and chopping time. Something I feel is important. You won't be able to grind grains and homogenize with it, but, if your not doing a lot of that you probably won't miss it. I'm currently feeling the need to upgrade to the Champion because I'm starting to feel that I'd like to explore raw food more in depth, and be able to have more preparation options than what the Jack Lalanne gives me. The thing that holds me back is that large feeding chamber!! Its such a time saver!
Here are some tasty and powerful recipes to get you started:
Carrot Juice
4-5 medium carrots, washed and peeled
Carrot and Apple Juice Combo
4-5 medium carrots washed and peeled
1 good size apple
Kids love this one!
Carrot and Beet Juice Combo
4-5 medium carrots washed and peeled
1 medium beet washed and peeled
Carrot Beet and Celery Combo
4-5 medium carrots washed and peeled
1 medium beet
1 stalk of celery
Carrot, Beet, Celery, and Cucumber Combo
4-5 medium carrots, washed and peeled
1 medium beet
1 stalk of celery
1/3 of a good sized cuke
Carrot Beet Celery and Cabbage Combo
4-5 medium carrots, washed and peeled
1 medium beet
1 stalk of celery
a medium sized chunk of cabbage, red, or green
Carrot Beet Celery Cabbage and Spinach Combo
4-5 medium carrots washed and peeled
1 medium beet
1stalk of celery
1 medium sized chunk of cabbage red or green
1 medium sized handful of fresh spinach leaves
When juicing the spinach leaves, follow it up with a carrot or something larger and
harder behind it, to get the entire amount of spinach juice.
Watermelon, Pineapple Combo
This combination can be portioned to individual taste
Another great way to sell the kids on this stuff!

Again, portion out each ingredient to your individual taste.
I don't know anyone that doesn't like this combo!

Add blueberries slowly, they easily can become overdone!
When juicing beets, you'll find that they are very strong in flavor. You may want to use smaller portions of this veggie. They are such a powerful liver cleanser, and while its doing its cleansing you might find yourself nauseous. If that’s the case, cut back a bit. Its just the beets doing the job they were meant to do, but you can certainly cut back to avoid nausea.
Well, as you can imagine the combinations of things to juice are endless!! That’s what’s great about it, there is so much to choose from! I have found that I never lack for variety of juice to make. As long as the ingredients are in the house, its pretty much infinite! Not to mention all the things available during the summer season. I have found that parsley, and cilantro add a great flavor to many of the suggestions above, mostly the carrot and beet combos. Not to mention the fact that they wipe out heavy metals from our systems.
The benefits of living this way are so endless, I couldn't touch on all of them if I tried! Something I'm sure of though, once the health benefits of living this way manifested themselves to people individually, they would be sold on this and have a hard time living any other way.
