Snow Bush will transform your landscape into an explosion of color

   (Read 500+ times)
By Steve Habib

Though it is named as Snow Bush, it has nothing to do with snow or winter. Naturally abundant in tropical regions such as the South Pacific, Asia and Australia, it is among the most sought after bushes in the North America. People from all walks of life cannot fail to appreciate its beauty.

Colorful and Unique

The stems of Snow Bush are burgundy, while its leaves are remarkably green, pink and cream. Its stems help make any flower arrangement beautiful.

There is no other flowering bush that can produce blooms as beautiful as Snow Bush that grows between 5 feet tall and wide. in frost-free zones.

Where the Snow Bush Strives

Snow Bush grows best on its native lands. However, there are also ways to grow such bush in other non-tropical regions. The first thing to learn about is its basic needs.

The heat of the sun plays a significant role. Each day, 4 hours of indirect sun exposure makes the bush grow healthy.
It is also important not to plant the bush where it can be exposed to the sun in the mid-day, without any filter.

Snow Bush will survive in areas prone to frost. Nonetheless, during such time, its leaves droop and begin to fall off. The season following the winter, the unique foliage comes back to life.

How to Grow Your Own

Landscapers and gardeners believe that Snow Bush makes a spectacular centerpiece whether planted on a garden of placed in a large pot. The color of the leaves resemble a blanket of snow flakes—it makes a perfect scenery to be surrounded with flowers of different shades.

To have glossy flowers, it is best to water Snow Bush regularly and sufficiently. The soil should neither be dry and crumbly nor soggy. There are three different colors of Snow Bush’s leaves. Each of them is remarkable for a combination of other shades whether foliage or blooms.

Pruning Your Snow Bush

If left to tend on its own, it could grow tall and wide. Your neighbors may not like the concept that the stems of your Snow Bush intrude their yard, no matter how attractive the plant is.

Not pruning the bush may make the plant form like a shape of a vase. Most growers recommend pruning. Trimming the branches of Snow Bush is not hard to do.

Shears can effectively accomplish the task. Trimming the branches of your Snow Bush at least once a month encourages new growth, incites healthy growth and neat garden.
