By Patricia Wainwright

Square planters enhance the landscape and ambiance of your garden. Planters are often use by landscape designers to emphasize a particular theme or atmosphere of gardens and other outdoor areas of your house. Square planters can create creatively beautiful focal points in your garden, patio, or the front of your house. You may not at realize it at first - but square planters can unleash your hidden creativity and talent.

Type of Square Planters

Square planters come in different designs, styles sizes, colors, and makes or finish. There are simplistic styles, classic or traditional styles and contemporary or modern styles. Even international landscape designers and interior designers have come up with their own specially designed square planters to match, blend and create statements about the interior and exterior parts of houses, buildings, and other infrastructure.

There are small square planters and large square planters than can even hold large plants and trees. There are short square planters and tall square planters. These come in different colors to correspond to the color theme of your exterior and interior spaces - black, white, mute and loud earth colors, vibrant summer colors, pastel tones, metallic colors, and naturally-wooden square planters. Square planters enable you to put your plants in a pedestal. Square planters can also help create a stunning transition from the outdoor or garden area of your house to the interior portion.

Some of the materials use for square planters are: natural hardwoods such as teak and redwoods; resin such as polywood resin, polyethylene; fiberglass composites; metal such as zinc and copper; recycled metal; stone; lightweight glass reinforced concrete, and aluminum frames as bottom materials. There are also plastic square planters. Metal square planters, in particular, give a modern sophistication to your garden.

Some finishes include glossy, semi-glossy, basket weave patterns with legs, rustic or countryside, stone finish such as sandstone finish and river rock finish, and matte finish. Some square planters have satin bands and molded-in feet.

The characteristics of available square planters either on-line, in home or garden supplies stores are: weather- resistant, temperature-resistant, rust-resistant (for metals), fade-resistant, strong and durable, and ergonomically designed for growth of plants. Some square planters have self-watering convenience or a water minder reservoir system that collects and returns water to the plant, and lightweight. Some square planters have removable drainage plugs for better growth and healthier plants. Shapes of square planters include different lengths, widths, and dimensions of squares and rectangles.

Square planters give a uniquely gorgeous character and atmosphere to the exterior and interior parts of your home.
