Another tip, is to germinate your seeds over winter, using fluorescent lights, this gives them a head start. To speed up sprouting, put them in 3% hydrogen peroxide water, in their zip top seed bags, leave some air at the top, and then pop them under the lights. If you are serious about this, make sure you label all your seeds as they sprout, and when you plant them out in moist compost, watering with chamomile tea is another tip. Make sure you have the right mix of seeds for cross pollination and label them so that you can track the parentage of your little seedlings as they grow into plants. If you end up with a new stunning bloom, everyone will want to know its parentage. Daylilies are tough little plants, but take time to bloom, so this requires patience.
