Weather resistant wicker planters are some of best choices when looking for containers to display plants during summer and spring. Apart from being durable plant containers, wicker planters can also improve the ambience and appearance of a particular area in your garden or yard.
Weather resistant wicker planters come in various styles and shapes. Outdoor wicker planters are designed to withstand prolonged exposure to the elements such as rain and the sun. Resin wicker planters on the other hand are ideal for both outdoor and indoor use and come with durable and water resistant aluminum frames.
White wickers planters are widely available in gardening stores as well as wickers that are tan and green. Typical shapes of wicker planters are square and rectangular. Hand woven all-weather hanging wicker basket planters can also be had should you choose to display your plants above ground.
Rectangular wicker planters typically measure 32" x 12" x 30" and are great for pots up to 8 inches. Although rectangular and square wicker planters normally have the same measurements, the latter can be used for pots up to 12 inches. Standard colors for these two types of wicker planters are green, white and tan.
Weather resistant hanging wicker planters are great for creepers, blooming plants and ferns. These planters are typically made from PVC resin wicker that is hand-woven onto frames made of aluminum. The frames of these planters are also normally lined with coco fiber and decorated with a zinc plated chain. Commercial hanging wicker plants typically come in two sizes, 13 inches and 17 inches.
It is possible for some pieces or strands of a wicker planter to warp. This happens when a planter is stressed in a certain direction repeatedly. Putting back pieces into their original position fortunately is very easy and simple. First moisten the warped pieces with water. When the pieces become pliable and flexible, place them back to their original positions. To ensure that the pieces will remain in their positions, you can apply tape or secure a vise around them. Once they have dried completely, you can proceed to removing the tape or vise.
Cleaning wicker planters from time to time is also advisable to remove dust and surface dirt. Pay particular attention to the slats since these are areas where dirt and dust easily accumulate. A duster, ordinary dish soap and water are generally all that you would need in cleaning wicker planters.
